Fresno Brewery and Restaurant
Sequoia Brewing Company is a Fresno brewery located in the Tower District. It is a restaurant, micro-brewery and neighborhood icon. Another brewery in town is BJ's Restaurant and Brewery. BJ's is another brewery which we will review once we make the trek there. Share your restaurant experience with our readers by submitting a restaurant review!Sequoia Brewing Company

Location tip: This Fresno brewery and restaurant is located at the NE corner of Olive and Linden Aves (just west of Wishon). There is plenty of parking behind the restaurant.
Review: This Fresno Brewery was previously known as Butterfield Brewing Company up till fall of 2003 when the same owners changed the name to Sequoia Brewing Company due to their love for the sequoias. They have 11 different ales and lagers on tap.
The atmosphere is friendly, comfortable and non-pretentious. The restaurant has several specials including "all you can eat ribs" on Wednesdays and Buffet Brunch on Sundays. There is live jazz on Wed evenings and live music on Saturday and Sunday nights.
On our visit, we had the Buffalo wings for appetizer. They were fried, mildly spicy and delicious. We also tried the Loggers Dip which was thinly sliced tri-tip on a sourdough roll and came with homemade au jus.
The tri-tip and dip was flavorful and tasty. We also had the Black Bear Clubhouse which was ham, turkey, bacon and tri-tip on sliced sourdough. The sourdough bread seemed really dry and was practically falling apart as you ate it..not too impressive and will not be ordering this one again.
Here is a sampling of the Sequoia Brewing Company menu. Can't dine at a brewery and not try their beers! We had the Sequoia Gold and Blossom Trail Ale. We are not beer experts but both were light, golden colored beers and were cold and refreshing.
The Sequoia Brewing company will have a 2nd location at the Piazza del Fiore complex in NE Fresno (corner of Champlain and Perrin) in Spring 2005.
